MPMPROF - History:

¨  In 1999, few Engineering Graduates from Melapalayam started an e-mail group for sharing their thoughts, information, etc.,.

¨  In 2006, 50 members by 2006, mostly professionals. Members felt the requirement of an organization for the betterment of Melapalayam.

¨  In 2007, Started interaction with existing organizations (MEEF, MHET).

¨ In 2007, Huge amount of e-mail discussions focused on betterment of MPM among 100 members by mid of 2007 including a website to project MPM to the outside world, resulting in an agenda and action items as given below.

¨ In 2007-2008, Meetings were held in Sep-07, Oct-08 & Dec-08 for providing a start and direction to the team.

¨  In 2008: Our website (www. melapalayam.co.in) was launched with an aim to wipe misconceptions about Melapalayam and to have constant touch with MPM-ites around the world.

¨  In 2008: Coordination Committee (COC) formed to enable quicker decision making.

    In 2009-2010 Currently more than 350 members, including Professionals/Technicians/Skilled-Labors, serving in various disciplines/countries as the Engineering, Technical, Management experts, the experience of which shall be shared for group development.

¨ In August 2010: Registered under the ‘Tamil Nadu Societies Act

 Background - Melapalayam:

     Melapalayam has an average literacy rate of 62.39% higher than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 71.59% and Female literacy is 28.41%.

 Why is this Group formed?

         "Let there arise out of you A Group designed to carry out Allah's order in inviting people to what is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. And it is they who are The Successful." (Qur'an, 3:104)

         We, believe ‘MPMPROF has been able, by the grace of Almighty and your great support, to bring much active, kind, knowledgeable and resourceful people together, from all corners of the world, to interact and act jointly to educate, motivate, inspire and instill confidence; to remove disappointments, eradicate miseries, and help the needy. Subhanallah! The Objectives are just the abstract of ideas that float in the minds of many of us who desire to serve the community but don't find an appropriate channel to do so.
